Mid-term Writing Test

What should be the best film of the year.


Facebook is now part of the everyday life of almost 500 million people. Actually, the creator of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, is the youngest billionaire of the world and his business is always innovating in the social network industry. Released the October 1, 2010, the film social network is telling the story of this young adult who is studying in Harvard University and was predestined for what would be a planetary issue.

First, the film takes place in fall 2003, and starts rapidly when Zuckerberg and his girlfriend Erica breaks in a series of insults. Being angry about this situation, he decide to revenge himself by using is programming skills and starting doing a website were girls from the campus was compare to each other and rank for being the hotness. This experience that puts him in trouble, gives him the chance to meet the Winklevoss twins that helps him develop what today is call "Facebook". Some years after, the control of Facebook was starting to fall over when the intellectual property of the site was being debated by the Facebook team dropping then a spiral of complex events troubling the life of the young creator.

Second, the movie is presenting an interesting view of facebook's visionary creator Mark Zuterberg. Using Facebook that is now part of our life makes this movie is a key to understand this social network. Using the friendship surrounding him and the entire social quest that the young billionaire crosses. Mainly, by representing Mark's intelligence and different goals for is life project intended to gives us a comprehension of what's the website itself. By jumping back through time gives energy to the movies that is at the base a geek computing and court deposition. This effect works perfectly and maintains this movie interesting and captivating. The only negative point is that the movie is not a biography but a fiction that kind of stop our reflection to the fact that in final it is all planed by Hollywood.

In conclusion, Social Network should win the Oscard for the best movie because the main theme touches over 500 million people over the world. It is an evidence that using meticulous relationship between the character and make what facebook his at the base: a human creation highlighting a research of friends. The most important point of this film is the humanity that is put in it by using character's feeling like anger and what can immerge from the soleness of a university student: ... Facebook.
